My bio reads: Local Business Owner, Author, TV Personality, Weight Loss Coach, Motivational Speaker, and 2nd Degree Black Belt.
Who I really am is a fed-up citizen, who pays her taxes on time, crosses her “t’s”, dots her “i’s”, maintains her property, and supports her fellow business owners, who is watching the City that she loves decline.
I AM YOU
- I was born and raised in this City.
- I went to high school at Abramson in New Orleans East.
- I was VP of Student Council.
- I have obtained both my undergrad and my Masters of Business degree here at UNO.
- I actively participated in community service projects, such as Habitat for Humanity restoration, via our Co-ed Business Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi.
- Every business that I’ve ever owned, and property that I have invested in, has been in this City.
- I consistently serve in a Food Kitchen annually
- I represent a diverse mix of ethnicity, culture, and social groups.
- I am an independent. I always have been.
- I actively participate in our City’s unique blend of events and activities ... most of which are simply business meetings with good food and live entertainment. THIS IS OUR CULTURE.
WE KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG - Crime
I was advised not to write this here on my page. But you will get ME when you vote for me.
I am particularly disturbed by the recent comments made from current leaders asking us to support someone who methodically stole from us. That sends the wrong message to kids.
When you purposely take on the role of a leader, it is your responsibility to understand the influence that you have over the direction of our young minds. In the area of CRIME, WE ARE CLEARLY GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!
I do believe in tolerance, but not at the expense of the safety of law-abiding citizens. There must be consequences.
BUSINESS TIMELINE
-I started my first business at the age of seven.
-My 2nd business, created right after high school, allowed me to be self-sufficient and pay off my student loans completely.
-My current business, X-Trainers, LLC (www.x-trainers.com) began as a small in-home location, but quickly expanded by creating strategic partnerships. X-Trainers partnered with six of the top fitness centers in New Orleans including the YMCA and Central Fitness which resulted in a rise in the number of gym memberships by an average of 200 clients per gym.
-I Streamlined and systemized my process in my fitness business to grow into 6 locations, two of which were sold as franchises.
-I oversaw and managed the other 4. I have also renovated and flipped several houses in our mid-city neighborhood.
-X-Trainers is responsible for the start up of the first 24-hour fitness center in the GNO Area (then called Central Fitness)
-X-Trainers has also created 17 corporate Fitness Programs including Partnering with Whole Foods where X-Trainers’ Healthy Meal System [PV-2 (squared)] was launched.
-Then Hurricane Katrina hit. I got wiped out and had to start all over from scratch.
-It took years to rebuild a presence because our entire infrastructure was gone and my loyal client base had moved away.
Like all other small businesses in our City, being forced to shut down with no plan in place by our leaders to mitigate losses, was crippling. Fortunately, from years of experience, I know how to manage money.
